With the Diploma Student Concession Card, you can enjoy student fares and purchase a Monthly Concession Pass (MCP) for unlimited travel on train and/or basic bus services (trunk and feeder services).
You must be a full-time matriculated Diploma student* from the following nine government/government-aided tertiary institutions:
If you are a full-time student who is sponsored or receiving an allowance from an organisation, you are also eligible for the Diploma Student Concession Card.
If your application is unsuccessful, please check with your institution.
*Postgraduates are not eligible for the Diploma Student Concession Card
You can apply for a Diploma Student Concession Card during the bulk application exercise usually conducted every March to May and July to August.
If you miss the application exercise window, please apply here or at any SimplyGo Ticketing Service Centres (TSC) located island-wide. Before you head down, please call the SimplyGo Hotline at 1800-2255 663 to check your eligibility.

- Original NRIC/passport (Singapore Citizens); or
- Original NRIC/Re-entry Permit (Singapore Permanent Residents); or
- Original passport and Foreign Student Pass (FIN, for foreign students).
*The photograph must:
- Be taken within the last three months
- Have a white background
- Show the full face from the top of the head to the chin
- Have neatly combed or tied up hair

Your Diploma Student Concession Card will be delivered to your institution. Once the card arrives, your institution will contact you to arrange collection.
You can start using it by making a top-up via the SimplyGo app or at any ticketing service kiosk. There is no need to visit any SimplyGo Ticket Office to activate the card.
Please check with your institution if you do not receive your concession card after 10 working days from the date of your application.
For applications submitted after the bulk application exercise
How you receive your concession card depends on where you submitted the application:
- Online Applications: Your concession card will be mailed to the address provided in your application. A postage fee of $2 will be applicable.
Once you receive your concession card, visit any SimplyGo Ticket Office / Ticketing Service Centre with your original NRIC/Passport/Re-entry Permit/Foreign Student Pass (FIN) and make a minimum top-up of $5 to start using the card for public transport.
- Applications at TSC: Your concession
card will be issued on the spot. Please make a minimum of $5 to start using the card for public transport.
Diploma students can enjoy student fares and purchase Monthly Concession Passes (MCPs), which offer one month of unlimited travel on train and/or basic bus services (trunk and feeder services).
You can buy MCPs from any SimplyGo Ticketing Service Centre, Ticket Office, SimplyGo Kiosk, Assisted Service Kiosk or via the SimplyGo Portal and SimplyGo app. Prices are as follows:

Concession cards have to be activated and valid before the purchase of any concession pass
Only ONE valid concession pass can be used on an individual concession card at any one time
The concession pass can be activated up to seven days in advance of your intended travel start date. The validity period of the concession pass cannot overlap with that of the previously purchased concession pass. The validity period also starts from the beginning of bus/train operating hours on the activated concession pass’s start date
Unused concession pass or any part thereof is non-refundable
You will still enjoy concessionary fares with your concession card even if you do not purchase a concession pass
The concession pass cannot be used on Express, Premium Bus Services and the City Direct Services. For more information on public bus services, please visit the SBS Transit, SMRT, Tower Transit and/or Go-Ahead Singapore websites
You can continue to enjoy student concessionary fares and purchase monthly concession passes until you are no longer enrolled in a government or government-aided institution. The eligibility period is determined by the respective institutions.
Upon completing your studies, you can continue to use the Diploma Student Concession Card for another four months. However, adult fares will apply during this period. You may wish to purchase the $128 Adult Monthly Travel Pass for one month of unlimited basic bus and train rides.
You may check the concession card expiry date at any SimplyGo Ticket Office, SimplyGo Kiosk or Assisted Service Kiosk.
The Diploma Student Concession Card can no longer be used once it expires. You will need to purchase an Adult Stored Value Card for commuting.
Upon completing your studies, there is a four-month period for you to return your Diploma Student Concession Card and request an immediate refund of any remaining travel value at any SimplyGo Ticket Office. To collect the refund, please bring along:
Once the four-month period is over, your Diploma Student Concession Card will expire and cannot be refunded immediately. We will issue a receipt for any applicable refund, which can be collected at any Ticket Office after 10 working days.
You cannot get a refund of the Diploma Student Concession card while the concession is still valid.
Refunds for early school leavers can be made at any SimplyGo Ticketing Service Centre.
